After taking a great leap forward with his brilliant performance at Polanski’s The Pianist and continuing with his great acting career, Adrien Brody turned into a film director, more precisely of commercial ads. Now one of Gillette’s ambassadors, not only he dazzles us with his style, but he also filmed some of the commercial ads for the company. For the “Anthem†ad, a story showing different moments and with a boxer as the main character, Brody chose three beautiful top models from Civiles: Carla Moure, Andres Risso and Gabriel Carranza. As the boxer shaves, Gabriel does sit-ups before scoring a goal he will celebrate full of enthusiasm with his sparky eyes, and the goddess Carla and Andres have fun spinning round on the merry-go-round’s little horses. A commercial that bursts with stars in front and behind the camera.

Internationally successful Argentine photographers Luciana Val & Franco Musso did a special photo shooting for Pablo Ramirez that was starred by our super top model Andrea Abrego. Carla Ciffoni from Civiles also starred in the photo session together with other models.
The results of this luxury work will be soon seen in the best publications in Europe, continent to where Andrea is planning on returning to take up back her career.
The photographers spoke highly of Andrea and her potential, and also chose her for some individual shots that we will show you in Civilizate very soon.

One of the most stylish labels for men in Argentina, Felix, just cannot help choosing Civiles’ staff for its campaigns. This time, the favorite was the very same Santiago Montero. In Pato Battellini’s pictures, we can see him interacting with a helmet, a giant plush pig’s head (that looks a lot like Porky Pig!) and a skull, which undoubtedly is the fetish element of the season turned into a pattern.
Garment’s designs are basic, but in the textures and patterns is the fashion touch that is typical of Felix. White screen and poses with an attitude is all this label needs to show its collection – and a model like Santiago, of course.

Breathtaking Carla Moure, from Civiles, and cherished Gaston Gaudio starred the new campaign of the classic label from Minneapolis. The tennis player was so successful in his first attempt with Peng
üin that he returned to represent the brand’s vintage spirit. But this time he did it together with Carla, with whom he shares some romantic moments in fresh and young surroundings under the motto “Speak easy, Stay lucky.â€
Cecilia Glik’s photos, taken at the speakeasy Chancho Ciego bar (where modern communication devices are not allowed), reflect the old spirit of fun, spontaneity and comfort at a campaign that claims for the times of postcards, letters and meeting with friends without technologies involved.

A duo that gets together again: top model Emilio Alix and the chic label of fashion for men El Burgues. Under Nacho Ricci’s lens and in black and white shots, Emilio showed – full of attitude – a sophisticated wardrobe that juxtaposes eveningwear with day-to-day garments from the new fall/winter 2012 collection.
Among the outstanding separates of this season, there are designs that reappear with much style, like suits and two buttons and three pockets blazers in satin fabrics that match with skinny pants with clothespins and tailor cut. In charge of wrapping up are parkas, leather jackets with fake fur and felt and gabardine trench coats. For a distinguished touch, the bow tie or the suspenders are the inevitable touch. And get ready in a chic look for enjoying the cold weather.

Two still new faces in the local fashion world joined to create an astonishing campaign. Ailen Sciutto, a Civiles’ new face who we discovered at the scouting we performed in Misiones, is the new image of the great Garza Lobos’ last campaign. The label created under the management of designers Rubén Troilo and Constanza Von Niederhäusern has chosen the most beautiful Ailen, who posed naked, only covered by an amazing coat from the label.
Garza Lobos is a project that was built along a year of work and that is based on its detailed design, the use of natural raw materials, the complete development of yarns and fabrics from local animal fibers, like guanaco, llama, chinchilla and Patagonian cashmere, new processes of print and alternative techniques in the garment construction.

KM29 is a group of artists created by a dancer, a stunt man, a musician, a choreographer/social worker, a lighting technician, and a director that decided to left the “Porteño†contemporary dance production circuit and approach Casa Joven La Salle, where they started to work with five young man – who didn’t have any experience in performing arts – and ended up training them and developing a play.
Photographer Sebastian Arpesella was called to take the pictures for the press releases, but the relationship with the group became deeper and Sebastian spent time with them during travels, at hostels, rehearsals, setbacks, and shows. All this material was turned into “Insistir,†and exhibition that opens on Saturday, March 17, at 7pm, at Sala Tacec Teatro Argentino de La Plata, Centro de Experimentación y Creación, Esquina 9 y 53, La Plata. Closing April 29.

Jo Johannes is a benchmark of Buenos Aires. From his youth, as an architect and artist, a regular at dives like Parakultural and Bolivia, to directing advertising and travelling around the world, a time when he trained his retina for this moment. This “Ojo por ojo†(An eye for an eye) will be his first exhibition as a photographer in ten years.
Two looks, two eyes. One is in the style of Kern, or Goldin, ruthless pictures, almost marginal, but truly real, without any staging. And the informed eye will be able to recognize a body of a famous character from yesterday and today. In his other eye, there is a restructuration of the city (the cities). What should be. Complex, geometrical, architectonic, these pictures are his today.
Exhibition will be held at Galeria POPA, of which he is a founding owner, from March 17 to April 14, from 5pm. The gallery is at Lamadrid 882, La Boca.

The short film “Lo que Haria”, directed by Natural Arpajou and starred by our own CIVIL Andrea Carballo keeps surprising us with its success. Last December it was chosen the Short Film of the Year by the Argentine Institute of Cinema during the “Night of the Short Films”, competing with 14 other short films that had won festivals during 2011. Shortly after that it received the Best Short Film Award at the “Mar del Plata Film Festival”, it was invited to compete at the “Pantalla Pinamar” film festival and it was also selected as one of the best 10 short films of the year by Paulo Pecora and Cynthia Sabath. Curiously, amongst the 10 short films elected there is another one starred by Andrea, “Ni una sola palabra de amor”, directed by Niño Rodriguez. Both will be showcased on March 20th at the Nave de los Sueños. CIVILES celebrates the many accomplishments of actress Andrea Carballo.
