On July 19th, the journalist specialized in fashion Victoria Lescano, launched her second book, “Prêt-à-Rocker” (Planeta Publishing Company), in Ultra Bar, with friends and guests from fashion and music world, such as Noelia Mourier (Coco), Ricky Rúa (Los Brujos, El Otro Yo) and Pablo Ramírez, amongst others.
Rock consumption is mediated by the image: the listeners look at the cover and at the pictures of the CD`s booklet while listening to the music, they watch the videoclip of a song and perceive the scenic and choreographic deployment at a concert. We can conclude, then, that the symbiotic audiovisual relationship between fashion and rock always exists”, says the author.
In “Prêt-à-Rocker”, Lescano stamps her singular view of the relationship between fashion and rock in Argentina, since its beginnings to the present. More than forty years of history reviewed through the testimonies of its main protagonists: musicians, wardrobe artists and other creators from music and fashion industry.

From July 15th until July 22nd will be held, in Bariloche Panamericano Hotel, the fifth edition of MAD Patagonia, the event that brings together in the same place and at the same moment, the best professionals of fashion, art and design from the south of Argentina.

Our super top Lucho Jacob was one of the main characters in Dolce & Gabbana Fall/Winter 2010-2011 campaign, as Madonna’s couple. The shooting was made by Steven Klein in New York, where the model has been living for the last six months.
Madonna and Klein had met Lucho during the last trip of the singer to Argentina, when they were interested in having him in W, in Rio de Janeiro, role that at the end was played by Jesús Luz. Now it is our turn to be close to Madonna.

“Soy del sur” (“I’m from the south”) is the exclusive selection of Marc van der Aá for Civilizate, opening a new monthly section that shows Argentina from a purely personal photographic viewpoint.
“I travel all the time and that is a privilege. The fact of being able to share my art and my vision of every place I visit, with people who do not have that possibility, motivates me to keep going on”, tells the Dutch photographer and journalist, who will be in charge of telling the world why it makes totally sense producing images in Argentina.

Peter, Tom & Dave is a new and innovative digital male magazine that combines fashion, art and photographs, capturing stereotypes of today’s world.
The first issue was released in July, with the Civiles Marcos Bulacio and Wilter Versotti in the main productions of the magazine, and Fer Vazquez on the cover. The next edition of Peter, Tom & Dave will be released in September 2010.

Civiles sponsors the third cycle of Join the Art Side!, an iniciative promoted by a group of young people from fashion world, art and design, that consists on a cycle of strategic alliances and meetings of different disciplines, artists, brands, companies and materials, with the objective of making a functional and possible final product, in which is highlighted the added value generated by this enriched creation process. In this edition the brands that participate of the challenge are Arquimadera, Azienda, Dogma, Neoda and Oia.
Each brand will exhibite the creation process, development and final product. The exhibition will keep opened to the public until July 22nd, in Buenos Aires Design (Room Plaza Seca – Ground Floor). During the closing date will be made a solidarity auction of the develped prototypes in aid of Make a Wish, a foundation that makes sick children’s dreams come true.
Civiles invites you to participate in this initiative based on the artistic re-interpretation of senses, materials and techniques.

The last campaign of Lee Jeans Asia was leaded by the civil Marcos Fecchino and its stage was the city of Buenos Aires. The graphic and audiovisual campaigns of this legendary brand were made by an international team: direction by Jaron Albertin (United Kingdom/London), production by Smuggler (United Kingdom/London) and photography of Tim White (New Zealand).

Pilomagliano is the shoes brand created by one of the stars of Civiles, Yamila Pilo, in alliance with Ana Magliano.
“We wanted to create those shoes that you imagine but you never find. Those shoes that sometimes women look for as something simple, but they actually are really hard to find”. This is how Yamila describes the designs of a brand highlighted by its personality and that aims to stomp.
Ten years working as a model and many others studying Fashion Design, convinced her that in the fashion world there are no limits to creativity and that the impossibles garments do not exist. That way, the designs overflowed her mind and were captured in a unique collection, dedicated to those women who see beyond the functional appearance and distinguish the quality and value of a design object.
Besides dressing feet, the duo Pilo-Magliano has made a small collection of accessories and no one stops them. “We started with shoes because it is the most valued object in a woman’s wardrobe, but we are going even further”, promises Yamila.
