Javier Arroyuelo left Argentine soil in the 1960s to migrate his talent both to Paris and New York. Before returning to Argentina in 2006, Javier explored different creative fields. The plays he wrote were produced in Paris as well as in other cities and festivals throughout Europe. He collaborated with world class publications, such as Vogue Paris, Andy Warhol´s Interview Magazine, Vanity Fair (USA), Vogue (USA), House & Garden, Vanity Fair (Italy), his work on Roberto Cavalli wass published in the collection “Memoire de la Mode,” Editions Assouline (Paris/New York). And he’s been also an artistic consultant at Paloma Picasso´s until 2000. Since 1989 his pieces appear in Vogue Italy and L’Uomo Vogue, among other magazines.
From this month on, starting on Thursday, April 7, Arroyuelo will be lecturing “A través de la moda,” a 24 classes course that, in Javier´s words, “proposes a journey of discovery in words and images around the world of fashion and trends.”
The course approaches fashion as a fundamental cultural artifact, “a close mirror of society – that reflects its passions, its ambitions, its ideals of beauty.”
The course covers the story of fashion as we know it, with its distant origins in Eighteenth century France, going all the way up to the latest trends as they appear in the store windows and the streets of the whole planet.
