ANDRÉS RISSO FOR ETRO

October 4th, 2011

Another wise move of Civiles in the male model market. Andrés Risso is 23 and was discovered by chance – and at the same time – by the photographer Gustavo Di Mario and the stylist Carolina Urresti, and both suggested him contact Civiles. One more fortunate guy touched by the furry fashionista’s magic wand.

In his first trip to Europe, he walked for amazing labels – Junya Watanabe, Canali, Iceberg, John Varvatos –, and the season was crowned with Etro’s campaign, shot by the very same Mario Testino, accompanying no less than the eternal Stella Tennant.

Etro’s new collection exudes a certain richness with fall’s ornate prints and intensive color palette. Risso was layered and dressed for the decadent outing.

FLAVIA IS SWEET

October 4th, 2011

Urko Suaya flew the super top Brazilian model Flavia into Buenos Aires to shoot her for Sweet’s summer 2012 campaign. Sweet is one of the companies with the largest textile career in Argentina.

Flavia Oliveira, who currently is one of Victoria Secret’s angels, came with her natural charm and elegance, and made the whole staff fell in love with her.

The label’s new campaign captures the romance and spirit of the collection, which is full of daydream femininity and talks about a new fashion. Sweet flirts with lovely laces, flowers, sexy silhouettes and an idyllic reminiscence of the chic from the 1970s.

ANALÍA BORGHETTI AT GIESSO

October 4th, 2011

Another Civiles’ super model, Analía Borghetti, who worked together with Nacho Ricci – photographer in charge of the summer 2012 campaign – for Giesso.

The casting was complete with Eduardo Braun, a Brazilian model Civiles’ special booking, who has come for the second campaign in a row to work with one of the smartest labels in Argentina.

Giesso’s new collection is inspired in Menorca’s atmosphere, its universe of hues and textures, multiple whites, naturals and blues. Simple and smooth lines, subtle balance between simple and sophisticated, with no place for ostentation. Variety of textures, acid colors flashes, mix of cottons and silks. A bit of everything, a lot of mix, pure sensation.

SUMMER FELIX

October 4th, 2011

A label loyal to its style and also to its models agency, Felix has chosen Civiles again, now for its new spring-summer campaign. The favorite for the hot season was Lucho Rivarola, who was shot by Pato Battellini. The art direction was in the hands of Pogo, a creative boutique that works for many great fashion companies.

Felix’s new collection is based on the concept “an expression of how to dress a good life”, and it honors its motto. The Hawaiian shirts are the stars. And they compete with the tartan shirts – that now arrive in summery colors. This season they match with kakis and linen pants and shorts. In the color palette there is an important variety of neutrals that rub shoulders with navy prints. The t-shirts with slogans from the eighties are a must, along with the rocker ones that are always updated. For the feet – decks.

HERENCIA ARGENTINA – SUMMER 2012 VIDEO

October 4th, 2011

The essential inspiration of Herencia Argentina is liberty, the love for travelling, rebelliousness, the contact with nature and the classic motorcycles – and all is captured in the video starred by xxx and shot by Gabriel Rocca for the label’s new campaign.

Xxx plays the roughest biker, wearing worn-out leather and jeans in his Patagonian adventure. And the collection designs he shows feature cottons faded by corrosion, organic fabrics, rustic finishes and faded colors – a relaxed and austere aesthetic regarding the shape, but elaborate regarding the image and finishing.

The color palette of this Kosiuko’s collection includes neutral tones and colors such as coral, tomato, burgundy and aqua.

With classic reminiscences, Herencia Argentina’s style aims at a current differentiation without leaving aside the quality, which makes the garment last in time.

CIVILES SUGGESTS: ESCUELA CIVIL

October 4th, 2011

Attendants will learn elemental issues: what is a book or a casting; how to take care of the mind and the body in a healthy way; runaway techniques; personal styling; how to behave in front of a camera or a client, among many other things.

Escuela Civil course develops along 9 weeks, in classes of 120 minutes that have a maximum of 20 attendants each. It takes place every Saturday from 1.30 to 3.30pm and from 4.30 to 6.30pm, at Darwin 1154, loft 2ºC, Buenos Aires.

ILLYA KURYAKI & THE VALDERRAMAS ARE BACK

August 31st, 2011

Probably the most expected musical comeback in the Argentine scene. After almost a complete decade of solo careers, the “Kuryaki” are back. Our second great news is that the first video (or trailer as they call it) of the re-union of Dante Spinetta & Emmanuel Horvilleur, which was directed by Hernán Corera and Luciano Cieza, exclusively includes the civil Rocío Núñez & Flor Ramaccioni, who play the role of victims of these monsters of funk surrounded by female bodybuilders and other bizarre stuff characteristic of maybe the most famous duo of the “porteña” indie scene.

LUCHO JACOB IN GARNIER

In Argentina and the rest of Latin America he is the face of Herencia Argentina. In the rest of the world he is the face of Redskins and Express. Now, his bright hair took him to be the star in Garnier’s new campaign.

Lucho Jacob, always moving up, shows off his commercial side and keeps on passing with flying colors.

CIVILES SUGGESTS: WWW.LUCILAGODOY.COM

August 31st, 2011

This time our multifaceted top model Lucila Godoy surprises us with one of her most sensitive personal projects: photography.

Lucila’s camera finds those images that lie in every corner, but are usually missed by the daily eye. This way, in her web page arise sections such as “Breadcrumbs” (Migajas), “Corners” (Rincones) and “Moments” (Momentos), which reveal familiar places, but seen from a different perspective, or “Series,” “Union” and “T” that build parallel worlds with more than one picture. Lucila’s work is a trip without leaving the PC.

We suggest you visiting her new website, recently online: www.lucilagodoy.com.

CIVILES DID A PRODUCTION FOR V SPAIN

July 14th, 2011

In one of its tours around the big cities of the globe, the Spanish version of “V Magazine” arrived in Buenos Aires. “V Magazine,” the little sister of the cult project “Visionaire,” is a magazine dedicate to fashion, art, music, film, architecture and many more, all from an impeccable and very avant garde view.

Juan Gatti (photgraphy director of Almodovar’s films, photographer for “Vogue,” Loewe, Zara, and many others first class brands) was in charge of the shooting, and Civiles was responsible for the complete super production – as usually are the productions of this publication.

Models were mostly from Civiles, but there were also some top models from fellow agencies.

MALLEVILLE BY MEISEL

July 14th, 2011

Nicolás Malleville, one of Civiles’ international supermodels, has just starred the campaign for the worldwide famous Bally with Brazilian top model Carol Trentini. To put the cherry on the cake, models were shot by the legendary Steven Meisel.

The pictures, that show Malleville in one of his best times, invaded European shop windows and magazines, flooding them with glamour. Such is this Civil’s success, that he has just shoot not only for Louis Vuitoon, but for Banana Republic, Dedon, The Selby, and Vogue in Spain.

FIGUERAS FOR NIKE

July 14th, 2011

Figueras brothers non stop. Shot by Pablo Franco and with the production of Tuti Gianakis, supermodels Nicolás and Santiago Figueras were chosen by Nike for their image relaunch campaign in Argentina. The preview pictures can be seen on Civiles’ Facebook page and in Remix magazine, both in the printed and digital version, in a production that is as fashion as clever and shows some designs from the clothing line and of course from the shoe line.
